I had the opportunity to capture my friend Gabe Osorio and his band rehearse for an upcoming gig. The thought was to do a blur/motion with speed lights, but I forgot the radio slave transmitter, so we just winged it by balancing the fluorescent lights. Shooting tethered to a laptop let me play around with capturing different shutter speeds to get just the right amount of blurred motion. I wanted the blurred motion to illustrate the passion in their movements that created the music.
